This little model only spans 15" and is built from 1.0 and 0.5 mm Depron. It's a tricky build in the final stages, although the actual construction is easy enough. The transfers were produced on my PC and printed onto Lasertran. The outlines and sizes are much more accurate than the first version, thanks to a detailed correspondence with H Stephens from Richmond, Surrey, with many more photos and his own analysis of this unique aircraft. I have recently discovered that it was modified for the Gnat 35hp twin, with a completely new cowl (and much less performance, presumably) and nicknamed the Tadpole.. This modification would make an excellent Peanut design, as the area forward of the CG is much greater than the radial-engined types and the cowling is more streamlined. Full details of both types are on the plan.
